How to Join the Order of Demolay

DeMolay is a fraternal organization for young men ages 12-21. It stresses the importance of leadership and other qualities in youth. Many influential people have been DeMolays, such as Walt Disney, Walter Cronkite , and John Wayne.


Steps

1. Visit the DeMolay website (mentioned below) to get information about DeMolay and learn about what makes it different than other organizations.
   
2. Visit your state jurisdictions web site to learn about the history of DeMolay in your state and to find a local chapter.
   
3. Contact your local chapter to determine where and when they meet, and what the membership fee is (it varies from state to state and chapter to chapter)
   
4. Go to a few meetings to get to know the members of the chapter and to get a petition (application for membership).
   
5. Turn in the petition along with your membership fee at a regular stated meeting of the chapter.
   

Tips

• See if anyone at your school is a DeMolay, they will be able to introduce you to the chapter and give you further information about DeMolay.

• DeMolay is not for everyone, you must be an upstanding young man to succeed in DeMolay.
