The original post is worth a million strong email forward.

Other than actual noting down in a real diary, a visualization called "Success Diary" Technique also helps.

This is done by imagining that we have already filled many pages of a Golden Book with things to appreciate about our life, our achievements, the solutions we have discovered and the solutions we have successfully offered others. We have to feel the emotion of joy and gratitude for filling so many pages of this Success Diary. This visualization puts us in the positive State to start real world appreciation and solution creation even more.

About receiving, if we do not receive, we deny another the gift of feeling joy at giving. Not receiving can be just as negative as being stingy. The best way to get someone to like you is to allow them to do something good for you.

Yes iqhunk, good advice, receiving can be a very mystical experience and also a form of victim mentality and self-sacrificing, it requires a very fine line just as giving, you cannot give too much nor receive too much, if you tune into the forces of nature and just observe how all the animals and creatures do it, you see how the eco system stays structured not like us greedy creatures!
